Residents of Barangay Pandan in Angeles City benefit from the city government’s ‘Barangay Day’, where they availed of different services like medical mission, free haircut, and check-up, among others. The Confucius Institute at Angeles University Foundation (CI-AUF) inaugurates three new Confucius Classrooms led by Chinese Ambassador Zhao Jianhua (5th R), DepEd Undersecretary Mario A. Derequito (4th R) and  AUF President Dr. Joseph E.L. Angeles (2nd R), during the 5th anniversary of CI-AUF last July 24 at the AUF Sports and Cultural Center, Angeles City.  The Confucius Classrooms will be located at the Paoay National High School (PNHS) in Ilocos Norte, Tarlac National High School (TNHS) in Tarlac City and San Francisco High School (SFHS) in Quezon City. Other participants during the unveiling of the markers were (L-R) CI-AUF Chinese Director Dr. Zhang Shifang, Fujian Normal University President Prof. Wang Changping, PNHS Principal Rogelio B. Lagadon, CI-AUF Philippine Director Dr. Lourdes T. Nepomuceno, TNHS Principal Dr. Yolanda M. Gonzales, SFHS Principal Dr. Victoria B. Mangosong and DepEd Region III OIC Rizalino Jose T. Rosales.  The Confucius Classrooms adopt flexible teaching patterns and are designed to suit local conditions in teaching Mandarin and in promoting Chinese culture and the arts. --AUF PHOTO
